Jump detection is one function of the P3Â laser distance sensors. The changes in the measured value, i.e. the jumps, are evaluated rather than the absolute distances. Jump detection can be used as an edge counting method, e.g. when counting newspapers on a conveyor.
Stable detection of flat objects on uneven surfaces
Reliable spill counting thanks to detection of measured value jumps
Insensitive to misalignment due to slight change in distance
Laser triangulation sensors are arranged opposite each other for thickness measurement. The sensors use the triangulation method to detect the distance to the object and calculate the thickness of the measured object from both values.
Measurement results can be read directly on the display without an analysis module and programming in the control unit
Easy cabling and automatic configuration with optional connection cable
For differential measurement, laser distance sensors are arranged next to each other. A sensor measures the distance to a background, for example a conveyor belt, and another sensor measures to the object. The difference between the two measured values is calculated and output directly by the main sensor.
Â
Precise height measurement even on uneven backgrounds
Contactless product height measurement
The laser distance sensors evaluate not only the measured distance, but also the light intensity received from the object. This is how contrast differences are detected.
Â
Easy part monitoring for height and color
Error monitoring for the highest product quality
Detection of transparent objects with constant background
Laser distance sensors with blue diode are very well suited for red-hot or organic surfaces, polished metals, shiny plastic surfaces or dark paints. The short-wave blue laser light does not penetrate as deeply into the surface, resulting in high accuracy.
The P3 laser distance sensors are equipped with a focused laser light spot with a spot diameter of just 0.5 to 1.5 mm. They therefore offer ideal conditions for detecting and measuring the smallest objects. The small light spot also enables precise switching behaviour on edges.
The CMOS sensors are equipped with eye-safe laser class 1, warning signs and safety measures are not necessary. If required, the laser class can be upgraded to laser class 2 with an optionally available license in order to enhance the performance in applications with very dark objects and extremely high speeds.
The weCon app enables mobile parametrization and data transfer of the P3 distance sensors. Parametrization can be carried out easily via Bluetooth app. This function makes the process much easier, especially with sensors that are difficult to access or installed in large numbers, as it allows the individual sensors to be parameterized quickly.
Download the weCon app now free of charge from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
The P3 laser sensors are set via intuitive teach-in at the touch of a button.
This saves time during initial start-up. To teach in the CMOS sensors, the teach-in key is pressed for two or five seconds.Â
The laser distance sensors from the P3 series are characterized by a simple operating concept with a clearly visible OLED display. The configuration of the parameters and the display of the distance value can be set and read out via the OLED display.
Increases optics service life in harsh environments and in conditions with weld spatter
Quick and easy replacement in the event of wear
Increased protection thanks to replaceable hybrid glass (glass film)
Thoroughly clean the sensor glass with a microfiber cloth or a special cleaning cloth to remove dust and fingerprints.
When removing the old protective film, make sure that it is pulled off carefully at one corner.
Place the new film on the glass, making sure that the film is straight.
To avoid air bubbles, gently smooth out the film from the center.
The film should be cleaned again with a microfiber cloth to ensure that it is clean and smooth.
